KEY ELEMENTS: Black Pepper, Birch Tar, Tobacco, Citrus, Seaweed, Wood

Our inaugural and best-selling fragrance, inspired by Old Reykjavík, evokes nostalgia and heritage. It's rooted in Jónsi's memories of working alongside our father on the big ships that frequented the old harbor. This scent, No. 23, captures the essence of oil-stained hands, a feeling of industry and salty ocean air mixed with the aroma of pipe tobacco.

Smoke in the air and tarred telephone poles,
Anis seeds and black pepper,
tail freshly mowed grass and tobacco leaves.
Dead flowers bow to the ground.
In the breeze, the feminine fountain
pine tickles the top of your skull.
A beached whale is about to explode.

Reykur í loftinu og tjargaðir símastaurar.
Anísfræ og svartur pipar fylgja nýslegnu
grasi og tóbakslaufum.
Dauð blóm hneigja sig. Í golunni kitlar
kvenleg Lindifuran vitin.
Í fjöru er strandaður rotnandi hvalur.

Top Notes - Bergamot, Black Pepper, Licorice
Middle Notes - Cypress, Siberian Fir
Base Notes - Birch Tar, Amber Gris, Patchouli

Each fragrance is hand-crafted and wrapped in a cotton bandana illustrated by Ingibjörg Birgisdottir.

Sophia ★★★★★

I was a bit nervous about the birch tar note since it can go harsh, but here it just adds a rugged warmth that really works with the citrus. The dry-down keeps this smoky, woody edge that feels like old Reykjavík—seriously lasts through a full workday.

I wasn’t expecting the seaweed and tobacco to come through so clearly, but they give it this moody, coastal depth that feels like walking through an old harbor town. It’s been three hours and the wood note is still hovering close to my skin, so the lasting power is solid.

The black pepper and birch tar hit immediately, but the seaweed and tobacco underneath give it this salty, smoky depth that honestly feels like walking through a rainy harbor. I've worn it for a week straight and keep catching whiffs of that woody nostalgia hours later.
