KEY ELEMENTS: Black Pepper, Birch Tar, Tobacco, Citrus, Seaweed, Wood

Our inaugural and best-selling fragrance, inspired by Old Reykjavík, evokes nostalgia and heritage. It's rooted in Jónsi's memories of working alongside our father on the big ships that frequented the old harbor. This scent, No. 23, captures the essence of oil-stained hands, a feeling of industry and salty ocean air mixed with the aroma of pipe tobacco.

Smoke in the air and tarred telephone poles,
Anis seeds and black pepper,
tail freshly mowed grass and tobacco leaves.
Dead flowers bow to the ground.
In the breeze, the feminine fountain
pine tickles the top of your skull.
A beached whale is about to explode.

Reykur í loftinu og tjargaðir símastaurar.
Anísfræ og svartur pipar fylgja nýslegnu
grasi og tóbakslaufum.
Dauð blóm hneigja sig. Í golunni kitlar
kvenleg Lindifuran vitin.
Í fjöru er strandaður rotnandi hvalur.

Top Notes - Bergamot, Black Pepper, Licorice
Middle Notes - Cypress, Siberian Fir
Base Notes - Birch Tar, Amber Gris, Patchouli

Each fragrance is hand-crafted and wrapped in a cotton bandana illustrated by Ingibjörg Birgisdottir.

The black pepper hits sharp and smoky upfront, then the birch tar and tobacco settle into something warm and familiar. I catch the seaweed underneath every time I wear it, and it makes the whole thing feel grounded, not perfumey. This new bottle design is sleeker too, easier to grip.

The seaweed note is what got me—it’s briny and weirdly grounding, like a walk by the harbor on a cold day. This new bottle pours nicely and the tobacco settles in after about twenty minutes, cozy and smoky without being heavy. I’ve worn it daily since it arrived.

The pepper hits first, sharp and warm, then the tobacco and wood settle in like an old wool sweater. I’ve worn it for a week and keep catching whiffs of that seaweed note that ground the whole thing in something salty and real. The new bottle feels heavier and sturdier than the old one, which I appr
